EN12966 Visual Performance Standard Illustration By Seewor ---LUMINANCE

EN12966 works as the EU's most authoritative standard of VMS products, while visual performance, being the most important testing section including color, luminance, luminance ratio, and beam width. Seewor passed EN12966 testing and meets C2, L3, R3, B6 of different colors, which is a relatively higher level of EN12966 in visual performance in the industry.

Here I would like to make an illustration regarding Luminance among visual performance.

Luminance describes the amount of light that passes through, is emitted or reflected from a particular area, and falls within a given solid angle.

In EN12966 standard, VMS are required to display within a certain range of brightness in different luminance environments showing white, yellow, red, green, and blue colors, and reaching a certain numerical range with several different illuminations. This level of brightness can be divided into L3, L2 and L1 from high to low. See below:

Experiments have proved that Seewor’s testing VMS have completely applied for the EN12966 standard, and achieve the highest L3 level in luminance.
